star festival held at the pearl Center,Asagaya's shopping district.Sponsoring

1957,local merchants in Koenji introduced the Awaodori dance native
to Tokushima Prefecture.The number of participationg danders--8,000registered
in recent years-has grown every year,along with the 1.2million viewers
who come to watch this unique event.This dance,characteristic lilting
music,is a familiar event of the summer in Koenji. Location:JR Chuo
